To improve fire safety for solar panel installations, the DC plus and minus lines must be routed separately (NPR5310) and airtight (BENG) through the roof into the building. For all new construction, both residential and non-residential, permit applications must meet the requirements for Nearly Energy Neutral Buildings (BENG) from 1 January 2021.
