Safe outdoor enclosure for home battery systems.
The Batteryshelter is a durable, fire-safe outdoor enclosure for home battery systems (ESS). This robust shelter is manufactured from Magnelis® steel, a metal known for its exceptional corrosion resistance and long service life. As a result, the Batteryshelter is highly suitable for use in humid environments and coastal areas.
The Batteryshelter is available in four standard versions:
• Magnelis® steel.
• Powder-coated copper brown (RAL 8004), traffic white (RAL 9016), and anthracite grey (RAL 7016).
The coating system is designed in accordance with ISO 12944 (C3) and visually complements modern façade architecture.
Fire-safe and well-ventilated design.
The enclosure is equipped with perforated front and side ventilation openings that provide natural airflow (free convection). Heat, smoke, and any fire are directed sideways, away from roof edges and timber structures. In the event of thermal runaway, the battery cells remain safely contained within the shelter, preventing cell-to-cell propagation and limiting potential damage to the surrounding environment.
Protected against unauthorised access and weather conditions.
The lockable cover protects the battery against theft and unauthorised access. The construction is easy to install and open using standard hex-head bolts, while additional anti-theft security bolts provide increased resistance against forced entry. Thanks to its IP12 and IK10 design, the Batteryshelter is resistant to rain and heavy impact.
Simple and secure wall mounting.
Wall mounting is straightforward using ETA-approved fischer construction plugs. By installing the Batteryshelter at least 30 cm above ground level, the home battery system remains protected against water, dirt, and the effects of ground settlement.
