PVbox ImpulseCheck – lightning alerts directly on your smartphone
Avoid unnecessary downtime of your solar panel system due to lightning strikes. With PVbox ImpulseCheck, you receive real-time alerts in the event of lightning current or surge events, directly on your smartphone via the internet. This system is a valuable addition to the existing protection options of the PVbox.
When excessive current loads occur, for example, due to a lightning strike near the installation, diodes in solar panels can fail or even burn out. Thanks to PVbox ImpulseCheck, you are immediately notified, enabling the system operator to carry out preventive maintenance in time.
Real-time monitoring via Proficloud
ImpulseCheck uses Proficloud for real-time monitoring and communication.
Lightning surge currents and voltage pulses are detected and forwarded to:
- The building management system (BMS)
- The responsible installer’s smartphone
This ensures you always have insight into the status of the surge protection and can take targeted action after a lightning event.
Easy inspection & maintenance in line with Scope 12
In the event of damage or failure of the surge protection, ImpulseCheck enables scheduled replacement of the plug-in SPD modules.
This simplifies:
- System inspection according to Scope 12 (NEN-EN-IEC 62446-1)
- Performing insulation resistance measurements on DC circuits
