Fire safety and architectural aspects
When installing solar panels, various aspects must be taken into account to ensure that the fire resistance is not negatively affected. First and foremost, the maximum allowable roof load is important. The maximum point load must not exceed the maximum load-bearing capacity of the structure anywhere. Avoid negatively affecting the fire resistance of the building on which the solar power system is built. Do not install solar modules on roof sheets containing asbestos. The solar panel system must be properly secured so that sliding of the system does not cause storm damage or loss of yield.
It is important that the roof surface is not overloaded with panels so that periodic inspection remains possible. Also, for sloping and flat roofs, the proper fireproof materials should be used under the PV panels and behind the inverters. The solar installation must be designed and installed in accordance with the latest NEN1010 and NEN7250 standards.
