More and more households are generating their own energy with solar panels. But what happens to the electricity you produce during the day but do not use at that time? With a home battery, you can store some of that energy for later use. This makes home batteries increasingly attractive to homeowners.
But once you start looking into it, a practical question soon arises: where should you actually install a home battery?
Inside your home? In the garage? In the shed? Or outside?
On 9, 10 and 11 October 2026, Conduct will be at Beurs Eigen Huis at Jaarbeurs Utrecht. There, we will introduce you to the Batteryshelter: a specially developed solution that allows a home battery to be installed neatly and practically outside the home.

Why install a home battery outside?
A home battery needs a suitable location. Not every home has enough space for one. Perhaps you would rather not have the technical installation in the utility room, garage or attic. Or perhaps you simply want to use the available indoor space for other purposes.

Conduct has developed the right solution for this.
The Batteryshelter has been developed to provide a suitable solution. It gives the home battery its own place outside the home, in an enclosure designed specifically for this application.
This means energy storage does not have to take up valuable space inside your home.
A home battery is becoming increasingly relevant
Solar panels produce the most electricity when the sun is shining. That is not always when you use the most energy at home. A home battery can temporarily store generated electricity so that it can be used at another time.
In addition, the Dutch energy system is changing. From 1 January 2027, the net metering scheme will end. As a result, it is becoming increasingly attractive for households with solar panels to consider how they can use as much of their self-generated electricity as possible, either immediately or at a later time. A home battery can be part of such a smarter energy system.

Why give up part of your indoor space when the battery can have its own place outside?
At the exhibition, you can see the Batteryshelter for yourself and get a much better idea of its size, installation options and what such a solution could look like at your home.
You can read a great deal about home batteries online. But when you are seriously considering energy storage for your own home, you also want to see the solution for yourself.
That is why we are bringing the Batteryshelter to Beurs Eigen Huis.
You can take a closer look and ask our specialists anything you would like to know about combining home batteries with outdoor installation.
For example:
- Where can a Batteryshelter be installed around my home?
- Which home battery is suitable for my situation?
- How much space do I need?
- How can I combine a battery with my solar panels?
- What does the installation involve?
- Is outdoor installation possible at my home?
Do you have photos or drawings of your home? Feel free to bring them with you. This will allow us to provide more specific advice during the exhibition.
