ConStrut® by Conduct

Conduct Technical Solutions has partnered with ArcelorMittal to enhance the value of PVshelter by introducing a new product named ConStrut®.

ConStrut® is made up of strut profiles coated with Magnelis® that provide increased resistance against corrosion and a lower CO₂ footprint due to the environmentally friendly production process of Magnelis®.

Magnelis® is a cutting-edge coating made of zinc, aluminium, and magnesium that is applied to steel and renowned for its exceptional properties. In the solar market, this advanced coating technology has proven to be a sustainable solution. In fact, ArcelorMittal was awarded first place in the Sustainability category at the prestigious PV magazine 2023 Awards for their use of Magnelis®.

Key Features of Magnelis®

Excellent Corrosion Resistance

Magnelis® offers exceptional corrosion resistance due to the protective layer created by zinc, aluminium, and magnesium against corrosive environments like salty air, industrial pollution, etc.

Extended Lifespan

The innovative coating allows Magnelis® profiles to withstand corrosion in the most demanding applications. Thanks to the superior corrosion resistance of Magnelis®, end-users can rely on a guaranteed long lifespan in both industrial and coastal PV projects.

Self-healing Effect

In the case of any damage or cutting of the steel, the zinc-aluminium-magnesium coating creates a self-healing shield. The coating reacts to the atmosphere, protecting damaged parts by creating light white corrosion that naturally fades away. This self-healing effect is observable, for example, in the cut-out PVshelter logo.

Environmentally Friendly

Magnelis® is less environmentally burdensome due to its cleaner production process and offers a lower Zinc Run-Off rate*. This is particularly advantageous in sustainable energy projects.

*Run-off rate This is the rate at which material runs off a surface and dissolves in the external environment (expressed in g/m²/year). In this case, it indicates the amount of zinc washed off the surface by rain and deposited into the soil.

The combination of the wind certificate for PVshelter and the use of Magnelis® steel in both profiles and roofs makes PVshelter unique, ensuring no compromise when it comes to sustainable safety.
