Safe outdoor enclosure for home batteries
The Battery Shelter is a durable, fire-safe outdoor enclosure for home batteries (ESS). This robust shelter is made of Magnelis® steel, a metal with exceptional corrosion resistance and long service life, making it ideal for humid and coastal environments.

 

The Battery Shelter is available in four standard versions:

  • Magnelis® steel
  • Powder coating in facade colours: copper brown (RAL 8004), traffic white (RAL 9016) and anthracite grey (RAL 7016).

The coating is applied in accordance with ISO 12944 (C3) and visually complements modern facade architecture, including the most commonly chosen facade styles of Groothuisbouw and BMN Bouwmaterialen.

 

Fire-safe and well-ventilated design
The enclosure features perforated front and side slots that ensure natural airflow (free convection). Heat, smoke and potential flames are directed sideways, away from roof edges and wooden structures. In the event of a thermal runaway, the battery cells remain safely contained within the shelter, preventing cell propagation and minimizing damage to the surroundings.

 

Protected against unauthorized access and weather conditions
The lockable cover protects the battery against theft and unwanted access. The construction is easy to install and open using standard tap bolts, while two additional anti-theft lock bolts provide burglary resistance. Thanks to its IP12 and IK10 design, the Battery Shelter is resistant to rain and heavy impact.

 

Simple and secure wall mounting
Installation on the facade is straightforward using ETA-approved Fischer construction plugs. By mounting the shelter at least 30 cm above ground level, the home battery remains protected against water, dirt and the effects of ground subsidence.
